We were awful at it, and never got past world 3 because of the boss battle, but all of that aside, it was just... fun. I'm looking forward to Super Mario Odyssey and the upcoming Nintendo Switch, yet at the same time I just want time to reverse, and go back to that Christmas morning, when I was in 4th grade, and we opened that package to reveal Galaxy 2. I never played the first one, but somehow this song manages to bring back so many memories. Well, I have some geometry homework to do, and it's already past 9, so I should go do that instead of posting a comment on a 3 year-old video about a song from a 9 (10 this year) year-old game. I personally love Galaxy, not out of nostalgia either, I just loved every part of it. Odyssey is awesome too, but the levels lack the life that old Mario titles had, to me at least.

Akoni Wants a Hug: When i think if Mario Galaxy...i think of me scratching my disc on accident and never being able to beat the final boss because it would say the game disc could not be read...everyday i went to the store looking for a copy (because my parents wouldnt take me and didnt like ordering online) so since i never could beat it...i replayed the game...over and over again...it grew to me. It felt like this is the only game i like.. which at the time...it was. So i grew a connection with the levels and the music. Then finnaly 2 years ago, my friend gave me his copy...i beat the game, got all stars, played it as luigi all stars. then i did it again....and again. This game is like family to me. It got me through my stress of school. An abusive family that argued alot and never got along. so when i hear this song. Its not nostalgia i feel...i feel like its me meeting my closest family member after not seeing them for years. Yea i played the second one. Its a good game. Though i will never get that feeling again for a game. Just Mario Galaxy. I know there are better games out there, ive played better games. Though this is and always will be my favorite. Thank You Nintendo.

It Just Works: i was around 10 when i got Mario Galaxy and i eagerly started playing as soon as it was given to me, it was around this point in the game that realized that you can go into some sort of first-person mode if you stand still and i just so happened to try it in this Galaxy first, i remember moving the camera up and then i saw it: A beautiful galaxy sparkling with millions of stars, swirling in the nothingness of space as if it was real and i was so mesmerized that i couldn't look away, it made me feel like i was staring at a real galaxy with thousands of planets, each more mysterious and beautiful than the next and even made me start to think of the vastness of the real space and how that little videogame will probably be the closest i'll ever get to seeing an actual galaxy that close....honestly there isnt a Level in this game that made want to stay quite as much as this one...

I actually wrote a story for my 7th grade English class that was inspired by this song and this game. I was a lonely space traveler whose goal was to find meaning in every tiny speck of the known universe, and get to a destination that I could only get to when discovering such meanings to life itself. Unfortunately, I only had a day to do it, but it wasn't terrible. Thanks to this game, I got a 90 on a test grade. So that's neat.

    553. Doge from San Antonio: I remember getting Super Mario Galaxy back in 2008 (I know I was 2 years late to the party. Lol) but I always had a special connection with Space Junk Galaxy. The year before in 2007, I had lost my dad to cancer and I took it really hard only being 13 back at the time. But then in 2008 I was slowly coming to terms with my dad’s loss. I remember getting a Wii for the first time in 2008 and getting Super Mario Galaxy for it. I really enjoyed it and it helped me get through the rough times after I lost my dad. When I first stumbled upon Space Junk Galaxy, I fell in love with it so much. It was so peaceful. I remember seeing all the space junk just floating around listening to the music and it was just a happy and peaceful moment. I remember just thinking that my dad is now at peace, not suffering anymore. The music just really added to the peacefulness that I was expediting. Even 10 years later at 24, this piece still brings me so much happiness and peace.

    737. Justplay / Jad: This game. I remember seeing a commercial for it in 2007 and crying in front of the TV. I was 6 at the time. I don't know why, heck I barely knew from friends who Mario was! Yet just seeing short clips from this game made me feel emotional. There wasn't a single day after that when I didn't sit in front of the family's computer and watch the same trailer for about 15mins-1hour and I honestly looked forward to it, like it was a show on TV. After almost a year of simply hoping to play the game one day, my half sister, who is way older than me and was already a full grown adult at the time, decided to come from France to pay us a visit for the holidays. And she brought with her a Nintendo Wii, and a copy of Super Mario Galaxy. And let's say that if I tried to express in text what I was feeling at that moment, I would be as inaccurate as... I don't know, the VERY WORD "INACCURACY". The rest of the story is just what all of you felt while experiencing this game.

I always used to team Peach and Daisy with eachother and the same with Yoshi and Toad. Another game I got was this anime princess game (It was translated to English and I was 6 and smart at the time so I was able to read everything they were saying. I lost the charger for my DS and never played on it again. Whenever my godsister brings her 3ds I play on that and I play Super Mario Kart she doesn't come over as often though. My cousin gave me his 2DS to keep and our younger cousin lost the pen and stuff so I don't use it anymore because I had to hide it and my cousin is always in my business so thats why. It's crazy to me that listening to one of these songs or a remade version of them can almost put a tear in my eye. They make me feel.. something. And it's sad to think that one day, they'll be no more Nintendo. No more stories plumbers who travel the world to stop the antics of a giant turtle. No more tales of a legendary hero donned in green, embarking on a quest to defeat the king of evil. Nintendo is my favorite game company, even through some of their more... controversial decisions (namely their online service), their games have always been my favorite.

I wish I didn't have to dread about going to school and be surrounded by idiots, I wish that everything was simpler. But every time I think about that, I always remember those times when I was a kid, and I would get lost in these games and have fun with my family and friends, and realize that maybe I still can make those memories again, even as a moody teenager. It just seems that no one appreciates games like these anymore. Everything is about fortnite and shooting games, and I might even get called a dweeb for expressing my love for Nintendo. Very few people at school even appreciate Nintendo, and it saddens me because they'll never appreciate games like these. I hope that one day, people will acknowledge games like these, before they sink deeper into time, eventually forgotten.

Jettisoning across the galaxy at warp speed with an non-aging avatar and the queen of space, looking at foreign formations, and watching planets brilliantly spiral in and out of life, similar to the way I observe my own. What I mean by that is we're never going to get personal FTL-capable spacecraft, commonplace as cars are today -- and so we're never going to see the galaxy. None of it will happen in our lifetime. And yet, this song makes me imagine it. To be able to sail across space, watching your speed distort and bend the light of the stars around you before it fades and you pull out of warp and into orbit around Kepler-22B, about to enter the atmosphere and land in the spaceport there. The greatest, but not the first, extrasolar human colony, but to one living at the time? That'll be a standard commute to work. It just saddens me that we'll never get to this point in our lifetimes. I don't know.

When you think about how small the Earth is compared to the huge sun, solar system, Galaxy, universe, then you would get why people are interested in the universe. That may not sound like much but when you compare 8 minutes for light to travel to 4.4 year then you get an idea of how big that distance is. Earth is 12,000 miles across and 1 lightyear is 6,000,000,000,000 miles long. The Milky Way is 100,000 lightyears across containing 200,000,000,000 stars. The observable universe is 96 billion lightyears long from end to end (much of it is "empty" space). That's the observable universe the entire universe is possibly infinite. There are 200,000,000,000 galaxies in the universe each containing billions of stars. There are more stars than specs of sand on Earth. The universe is so huge compared to us that it would be unintuitive to not wonder what's out there. We may have problems here but just because we have problems here doesn't mean we shouldn't be interested in what's out there. We are always going to have problems on earth and if we can't get past that then we can't get past anything.

This game is my favorite game of all time and I don't think any thing else will ever top it. It brought people together, helped them through tuff times, you don't usually see a game helping people in the real world, but this game did what other games could not, this game made you feel like you were strong (or still are. ^^;;), made you feel that you could do anything. The gameplay, a masterpiece. (sure, some controls weren't THAT well, but still). The graphics, the beauty of the trees, water, sky, Hell, even the lava, the dangerous places, still made you feel at peace, but there was also that feeling of danger kept there, like you needed to move on, but you could stare at the screen all day, watching everything go by. (Except for a few missions in the game, of course. ._.) I wish people would go back to a game like this, change the regular category of FPS, violence, etc. We should appreciate what beauty THIS (and maybe the 2nd) gave us. We should all go back, and just... Listen... Listen to the beauty, listen to the great adventure of what this game gave us. Super Mario Galaxy, a game that will stay close in my heart.

Last year, when I was 14, I was starting high school and having a tough time and I got another wii. I ended up playing this game during the worst of it and this song really slapped me in the face, and it was still really nostalgic too. This game is amazing and so is the music and I just AH. Now I just got super Mario galaxy 2 for Christmas; I just finished story mode today and have a lot more to do, but this game is still ridiculously amazing for me compared to the second, and pretty much every game ever. I remember going to school a while back with a Mario hat and a Donkey Kong T shirt. I came home with most of my ball sack bruised. (I am kidding you.) They called me a baby and momas boy because I said “I can’t wait to go home and continue playing Super Mario 3D World.” Boy what a big mistake that was. From there I couldn’t make any friends at school. So I literally forced myself to buy Call of Duty and GTA and all that crap. My hard earned money going for something like a switch going into “shoot shoot shoot bullet bullet gun.” Apparently that didn’t help either. Still that momas boy everybody knows and hates. I actually got depressed from there. I had no friends just because I’m a Nintendo fan boy. Of all things to bully someone for. Back then it was because your black, now it’s because someone said that they enjoy Kirby. Still have no friends. I’m going to high school in a couple of weeks. Hopefully I find someone, anyone that even knows who Mario is. I guess I’ll continue to sit on my couch alone playing the games that nobody has ever heard of.
